Born Oct. 4, 1965, in Burlington, he was the son of Gary and Linda Nelson Austin. He was a graduate of Mesquite High School, Mesquite, Texas. On Feb. 19, 1999, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Ann Dixon. He worked as a lift operator for Vista Bakery for three years. Previously he had worked for Wal-Mart Warehouse, Raider's Precast Concrete and Bluebird. He was a member of both First United Methodist Church and First Assembly of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, CB-ing, and bike riding. Survivors include his wife, West Burlington; two daughters, Sonia York, Burlington and Tonya Simpson of Tennessee; a son, Scott Simpson of Burlington; two grandchildren; his parents, Gary and Linda Austin of Mesquite; a sister, Shelly Garcia of Irving, Texas; a brother, Bradley Austin, Irving; an uncle, Jerry Nelson of Burlington; and an aunt, Pat Austin of Mesquite. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, two uncles and one aunt. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 23, in Lunning Chapel, Burlington, with Pastor Terry Terrell officiating. Interment will follow in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. Open visitation will be Thursday in Lunning Chapel. A memorial has been established. Wapello Republican April 22, 2004
