Mrs. Martha Axtell, 82, of Williamsburg, a former resident of Columbus Junction, died Jan. 25 at 4:00 a.m. at the home of her son, Lloyd Axtell at Williamsburg. Mrs. Axtell was born in the Wapello-Columbus Junction vicinity on Sept. 19, 1871, and was married to Perry Axtell on Dec. 13, 1891. Mr. Axtell died in November 1953. Mrs. Axtell is survived by two sons and a daughter; Lloyd and Emory Axtell, both of Williamsburg, and Mrs. Edith Hals of North English. Also surviving are three brothers and a sister; Abner Kemp, Grandview; Ernest Kemp of Conesville; Otto Kemp, Burlington and Mrs. Vinne Sargent of Columbus Junction.
