Skipto DATE: 2/27/2009 at 11:07:51 Surnames: ARINGDALE,SHOOK,METZGER,REIGHARD,WILLIAMS Frank Harris Aringdale, 90, of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1993, at Henry County Health Center, Mount Pleasant. Born Aug. 8, 1903, at Columbus Junction, he was the son of Charles and Ella Shook Aringdale. He married Eunice Dorothy Metzger on Feb. 10, 1926, in Henry County. Mr. Aringdale had farmed in the Columbus Junction area, retiring in June 1968 and moving to Mount Pleasant. He was a member of the Oddfellows and Farm Bureau and was a township director for 16 years. He was a Federal Land Bank director for Louisa and Muscatine Counties and was past president and past secretary for the American Association for Retired Persons, working at the group's tent at the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion for 18 consecutive years. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Arlene Reighard of Cedar Rapids; Doris Aringdale of Mount Pleasant and Evelyn Williams of Birmingham; a son, Robert Aringdale of Burlington; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. The funeral for Mr. Aringdale was 1:30 p.m. Friday at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial was in Columbus City Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
