Elsie Irene Ash, 77, 711 Roscoe Ave., died Friday, June 14, 1991, at St Luke's Hospital, Davenport. Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday. Burial is at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Greg Crosen, Chad Ash, Scott Ash, Rick Ash, Tom Ash and Lou Myser. Mrs. Ash was born at Morning Sun on June 11, 1914, a daughter of Fred Elton and Fannie Johnson Kendall. She lived in the area most of her life. She married Orville Ash in October 1935. She was employed at Muscatine General Hospital until her retirement. Survivors include eight sons, Marvin Croson of Atalissa, Donald Ash, Charles Ash, Melvin Ash, Gerald Ash, Richard Ash, Robert Ash and David Ash, all of Muscatine; three daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Helen) Thompson of Muscatine; Mrs. Lester (Karen) Kelly of Grandview, and Peggy Myser of Muscatine; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Kendall of Mount Pleasant; and two sisters, Mrs. Woodrow (Lucille) Brown of New London, and Dorothy Favors of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1969 and a grandchild.
