Pease, 89 year old retired contractor and architect, died at his home at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 28. Death terminated a long illness. Pease was the son of Henry and Fernanda Jackson Pease, and was born April 14, 1866. He was married to Clara Archibald on Sept. 24, 1902. They were married at Wapello. Mrs. Pease survives, as do a son, Sharon Pease, Phoenix, Ariz., a musician and writer on music subjects who is the author of the piano column in Down Beat magazine, and a daughter, Mrs. Lola Murray, of Mediapolis. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Henrietta Kemp, St. Petersburg, Fla., and two grandchildren. The body is at the Dudgeon funeral home. WAPELLO BUILDER TAKEN BY DEATH Services Held Friday Harry O. Pease, 89, retired architect and contractor, died at his home Tuesday, February 28, at 11:30 p.m. following a lengthy illness. Mr. Pease was a lifelong resident of Wapello. He was born in Wapello April 14, 1866, the son of Henry and Fernanda Jackson Pease. On Sept 24, 1902, he was united in marriage with Clara Archibald in Wapello. Mr. Pease is survived by his widow, two children, Sharon Pease of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Lola Murray of Mediapolis; a sister, Mrs. Henrietta Kemp, St. Petersburg Fla., and two grandchildren, Mrs. Eleanor Stone and Sharon Murray. There are five greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Eugene H. Pease. Mr. Pease was a member of Wapello Lodge No. 5, AF&AM. Services were held at the Dudgeon Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. The Rev. Floyd L. Shepherd officiated, and music was by Mrs. Phyllis McCulley at the organ. Flowers were in charge of Grace Bayne and Vira Sheafor. Members of the local Masonic lodge attended the services in a body. Members of the Wapello Volunteer Fire Department were honorary and active pallbearers. Casket bearers were Fred Brown, Bob Perryman, George DeVore, Doug Langstaff, Everett Webb and Robert Fletcher. Mr. Pease was a charter member of the fire department and served as chief for seventeen consecutive years. Internment was in the Wapello cemetery. Source: Unknown newspaper
