Frank Laverne Ash, age 66, of Wapello and formerly of Burlington, died Monday afternoon, February 15, 1993 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City. He was born July 8, 1926 at Fairfield, Iowa, the son of Frank and Birdie Pickering Ash. He married Patsy Ann Campbell on January 20, 1960 at Monmouth, Illinois. He was an Army veteran of WW-II and a life member of the Wapello VFW Glenn Allen Post 5166. He was a truck driver having last worked for and retired from Pallister Pallets of Wapello. Survivors include his wife, Patsy; three daughters, Lavonne Alexander of Danville, Pan Rosauer and Sherri Ash, both of Wapello; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Isabelle Ash of Wapello and Eloise Morrow of Bostwick, Florida. There will be no visitation. Following cremation there will be a funeral service held Saturday, February 20, 1993 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with Pastor Leonard Schantz officiating. Burial of the remains will follow at the Wapello Cemetery with Military rites by the Wapello VFW. A memorial fund has been established for the benefits of the Wapello Rescue Unit and the Wapello Community Ambulance Service.
