Skipto DATE: 2/25/2009 at 00:16:40 Surnames: DAVISON,MURPHY,MURRAY Wapello, July 10, 1950. Mrs. Harold Davison, 66, well-known Wapello resident died of a heart attack at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Restopia Nursing Home in Columbus Junction. The former Mary Esther "Mayme" Murphy was born March 31, 1884, at New Boston, Ill., the daughter of Thomas E. and Alice Belle Murry Murphy. She came to Wapello from New Boston in 1904 and taught in the rural schools of Louisa County for five or six years. She was married to Harold Davison in Wapello on June 24, 1908. Mrs. Davison was an active member of the Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, in which she was a past matron, of the Tarry Awhile Club and of the Rebekahs, of which she was a past noble grand. She also belonged to many other organizations in which she held offices. Survivors include her husband and one brother, Roy E. Murphy of Burlington. Her parents, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Church in Wapello with the Rev. L.E. Tinker, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Wapello cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Dudgeon Funeral Home.
