He had lived there the past two years. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 4, at the Dudgeon McCulley Funeral Home, Rev. Fred HARRIS officiated. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery. A Heart Fund memorial has been established. Mr. BERGEN was born May 8,1905 in Louisa County to John Henry and Rosa FOX BERGEN. He married Emma EVEANS on October 30, 1924, in Wapello. She died December 28, 1975. He had been employed as a button-cutter in the 1930's and in 1940 he joined the Carpenter's Union at Burlington. He had worked at Askren and Nelson Construction of Wapello, retiring in 1970. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include two sons Kenneth, Springfield, Missouri; and Marvin, Wapello; two daughters Mrs Donald (Carolyn) ADAMS and Mrs. James (Virginia) MCKEE Sr, both of Morning Sun; 16 grandchildren; and one sister Mrs. Sherman (Mary) MOORE of Wapello. He was preceded in death by one daughter, two sisters,two brothers and three grandsons.
