Gelatt has passed away at her late home in Highland Park near Los Angeles, Co. [sic]. on Saturday night, July 22. Interment took place there Tuesday. Mrs. [sic] Amelia A. Gould was born at Burton, Ohio, July 1, 1861. She was united in marriage to Homer H. Barnes, and in 1877 they came to Columbus Junction. Mrs. Gelatt was twice married. Her second husband being Hubert H. Gelatt of this place, who preceded her in death about 8 years. Mrs. Gelatt was the owner of the Safeguard block until a short time ago when she sold it. She at one time owned a great deal of property here. About four years ago she left Columbus Junction and bought a home in California. She leaves to mourn her loss an adopted daughter, Mrs. Ella Barnes Hetrick, and little daughter, Amelia, who made their home with her. Source: Clipping from an undated scrapbook
