Arnold, 62, of Wilton, Iowa, died suddenly on Monday, September 24, 2007, at Unity Health sSstems Hospital, Muscatine, Iowa. Kathryn Asmus was born October 4, 1944, to Fred and Marcella (Mohr) Asmus in Manning, Iowa. She marriede Gordon L. Arnold on July 27, 1969, in Wilton. She graduated from Columbus High, Columbus Juncton, Iowa, in 1963. She later attended the University of Iowa, receiving a secretarial degree. Kathy was the secretary at Zion Lutheran Church since 1992. Previously she had worked at Carver Pump and Mapco in Muscaine, CDS in Wilton and the Wilton Community Schools. Kathy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton, and the Wilton American Legion Auxillary. For may years she devoted her time to the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of Wilton. She enjoyed her work at Zion; for her, painting was a joy; she enjoyed reading, cleaning and above all, her children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton. A wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Zion Lutheran Church. Services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church. Inturnment will take place at the Columbus City Cemetery, Columbus Junction. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband Gordon of Wilton, and their children; Julie and her husband Corey Jacobs, St. Mary's, GA., Janine Arnold, Wilton, and Jason Arnold, Irvine, Calif.; three grandchildren; Brandon, Lauren and Cecelia; and her sister Genevieve and her husband Larry Scott, Dahlonega, Ga. She was preceded in death by parents, her granddaughter Alexandria Jacobs, her sister Anne Lowe and an infant brother John Asmus. Memorial donations may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church in her memory. Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, is handling the arrangements.
