Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Brown Garlock of West Branch officiating. Mrs. Roger Davis was organist. Casket bearers were Olin Jennings, Leo Finke, Chan Williams, Edward Massey, Marshal Rose and William Oakes. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery. Mrs. Aringdale was born April 8, 1894, at Carington, North Dakota, the daughter of Peter and Katherine Pepple Johnson. After graduating from Pleasanton High School, she was employed at the post office there. On June 24, 1917, she married Harry Millard Smith at Carrington, after which they moved to Columbus Junction. He died February 16, 1962. She married Fred Aringdale on March 19, 1979, at Washington. She was of the Methodist faith. her hobbies were art and craft work and raising flowers. She is survived by her husband; one son, Harlan Smith of Chicago; and one sister, Millicent Johnson of Omaha. The Columbus Gazette 4 Jan 1990
