Skipto DATE: 2/27/2009 at 10:22:30 Surnames: ARINGTON,OLDT,PRADO,TAYLOR,WINGERTER,CANOE Kenneth Madison Arington, 65, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 1988 at St. Luke's Hospital, Davenport. Services were Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Walter B. Helms of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiated. Katie Orris was Organist. Pallbearers were Roger Cleffman, Robert Bertotti, Jack Jones, Roger Estabrook, Wayne Messinger and Bob Lowe. Burial was in Columbus City Cemetery. Mr. Arington was born Jan. 12, 1923 at Columbus Junction, a son of Kenneth Madison and Neva Oldt Arington. Formerly of Columbus Junction, he had lived in Muscatine since 1950. On Oct. 11, 1946, he married Marie Prado in Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Golden Service Club of Bandag. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the 8th Air Force in the European Theater. He was also a member of the VFW and the Loyal Order of Moose. He retired in August from Bandag, Inc. where he was employed as a lab manager. He attended Columbus Junction schools and attended the University of Iowa and after World War II attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Survivors include his wife, Marie; one son, Kenneth Mark Arington of Muscatine; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Gayla) Taylor of Muscatine, Mrs. Bernard (Anita) Wingerter of Keokuk, and Susan Arington of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren; and an aunt, Florence Ganoe of Des Moines. His parents preceded him in death.
