Eden, died at 7:45 a.m. April 8 1976, at Washington County Hospital at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 15 days. Dayton Orris Eden was born on August 23, 1899, at Lone Tree, the son of George and Frances Gould Eden. He married Mildred Dodson, January 1, 1927, at Washington. Mr. Eden was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church and of the Senior Citizens. He is survived by a daughter, Donna Eden of Columbus Junction; two brothers, Oscar of Newton and Clayton of Iowa City; and two sisters Mrs. Lucy Bermeister of Blue Grass and Mrs. Frances Bean of Ainsworth. He was preceded in death by his wife, May 11, 1970, also by six brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Hasel officiating. Miss Donna Belle Hughes was Organist. Casket bearers were Robert McDowell, Darrel Richards, Ross Yates, Vernon Chatfield, Darrel Willey and Donald Stewart. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery.
