Skipto DATE: 2/27/2009 at 12:22:10 Surnames: ARMSTRONG,MARTIN,WARNOCK,MCCLURKIN Morning Sun - Mrs. Jennie Armstrong, 88, long time resident of this community died at the Mercy Hospital in Burlington Jan. 27, 1953 following a short illness. Jane Eleanor Martin was the daughter of William and May Ann Warnock Martin and was born July 31, 1865 in Pennsylvania. Her parents died when she was quite young and in young womanhood she came to Iowa and lived for a time at Blanchard. On Oct. 18, 1889 she was married to W.J. Armstrong whose death occurred in 1925. For the past 16 years Mrs. Armstrong has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Calvin McClurkin. Other survivors include two sons, Kirk and David. Two sons died in childhood. Seven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Morning Sun Reformed Presbyterian Church. The Rev. J.E. McElroy officiated and burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
