Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Thursday,December 13, at the Stacy-Lewis Chapel. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday noon. Memorials will be given to the Columbus City United Methodist Church. The daughter of Charles and Ella Shook Aringdale, she was born August 8, 1893, in rural Columbus Junction. She had been a member of the Spring Run Evangelical Church and later transferred her membership to the Columbus City United Methodist Church where she was also a charter member of the United Methodist Women. She had formerly been a children's Sunday School teacher in both churches. She was a former assistant postmaster at the Columbus City Post Office for approximately 15 years. She is survived by two brothers, Fred Aringdale of Columbus Junction and Frank Aringdale of Mt. Pleasant; four nieces,Helen Aringdale of Columbus Junction, Mrs. Arlene Reighard of Cedar Rapids, Doris Aringdale of Chariton and Mrs. Rex (Evelyn) Williams of Birmingham, Iowa; one nephew, Robert Aringdale of Burlington; and several great and great great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clyde, Roy, and Ruby; and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Olinger; one niece, two nephews and one great great nephew.
