Wayne C. Werner, 54, a former resident of Grandview, died Saturday morning at Burlington Hospital in Burlington where he had been a patient for the past three weeks. Mr. Werner was the son of Ewald and Nevada Hunter Werner and was born March 13, 1896, in Louisa County, near Grandview. He had resided in Beaver, Okla., for the past 22 years and in March of this year returned to Iowa where he had been making his home with relatives. Survivors include two sisters, Mabel Vincent of Burlington and Mrs. Helen Tomlin of Ainsworth; and two brothers, Carl Werner of Grandview and Fay Werner of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ernst. Mr. Werner was never married. He was a member of the Congregational Church and the American Legion. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Dudgeon Funeral Home in Wapello with the Rev. C.B. Larson in charge. Flower attendants were Carla Hallgren and Mrs. Norma Birkhofer. Casket bearers were Keith, George and Glen Beik, Guy Hardman, Paul Kemp and Glen Latta. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery.
