Skipto DATE: 2/21/2009 at 20:51:21 Surnames: CARLISLE,SKIPTON,GRIFFIN,COLBERT,VANDYKE,HANNAN Mrs. Mary Carlisle, age 91, Columbus Junction, died at Washington County Hospital Monday evening, August 15, 1988, following an extended illness. Graveside services were held Wednesday, August 17, at the Columbus City Cemetery. Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Rev. Tom Woodin officiated. Casket bearers were Kenneth Petersw, Jerry Williams, Marvin Kistler and Richard Hills. Mary Carlisle was born December 1, 1896, at Fredonia, to William and Hannah Adams Skipton. She married Dean Carlise on March 16, 1914, in Columbus Junction. He died on March 27, 1966. She had worked as a food processor at Columbus Canning. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Griffin, and Lorraine Colbert, both of Columbus Junction; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Carl; and two sisters, Nettie VanDyke and Mabel Hannan. A general memorial has been established.
