GRASHAM family I present limited GRASHAM material just researched for an old query that never got answered in a timely manner. Mary E. Hart, 1712 Grande Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403-2204, requested obituaries for George Graham and Jane Ann Morris Graham. While there were GRAHAM families in Louisa County, there were also GRASHAM families, and the two are often intermixed. George E. Grasham was born in Yarmer, Lincolnshire, England on 15 May 1818; died in Port Louisa Township, Louisa County, Iowa on 13 March 1909, at the age of 90 years 9 months and 28 days. George was married 3 times. Probably (1) was on 18 December 1845 in Louisa County to Sarah Jane Hainey (1824 - 1855). He possibly married (2) 24 October 1855 to Nancy Ann Johnson He married (3) Jane Ann Morris, born April, 1834 near Buffalo, New York; died 17 February 1898; married George Grasham 3 September 1857, in Louisa County. Jane came to Louisa County with her parents in 1839. George and Jane had 8 children, actual order of birth unknown. 1. John H. Grasham was married 27 April 1776 in Louisa County to Joanna Carrigan and lived in Muscatine. 2. James C. Grasham (1853 - 1917), of Gates, Oklahoma. 3. Jessie S. Grasham of Englewood, Kansas 4. Frank E. Grasham (1860 - 1922), was married on 20 January 1886 in Louisa County, to Etta V. Bromley. 5. Lincoln S. Grasham (1873/83 - 1910), married 10 November 1898 to Sadie Bromley and lived in Port Louisa Township 6. George Grasham, (1872 - 1960), of Louisa County and later Michigan. 7. Anna (Grasham) Hubbard, of Gates, Oklahoma. There are probates for L. B. Grasham, Nola May Grasham (Gdnshp), Ettie Grasham, F. E. Grasham, Morris Kent Grasham, Marilyn E. Grasham, and Elizabeth Grasham (both guardianship and estate.) None of these have been inspected. Birth records have not been examined. There have been no queries to the Louisa County Genealogy Society on the GRASHAM surname. I have obituaries for both George E. and Jane Ann. Hope this helps someone.
