    3. Dear List, Tonight's (August 27, 1999) issue of the Muscatine Journal has an obituary which may interest some of you list members on some of your collateral lines. I type the text as it appears in the obit. D. Margaret Tharp, 90, a resident of the Wapello Nursing and Care Center, formerly of Grandview, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at the Muscatine General Hospital. (Now called Unity Hospital.) Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello. The Rev. Darryl Erickson will officiate. Burial will be at the Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 - 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Tharp was born May 22, 1909, in Wapello, the daughter of Albert F. "Cap" and Minnie M. Wykert Knight. She married James Newton "Newt" Tharp on June 12, 1927, in Muscatine. He died May 5, 1991. She worked at the IAAP in Burlington during World War II. She enjoyed being a home-maker which included gardening and sewing. She also enjoyed singing and especially the times with family. Survivors include three daughters and two sons, Shirley Dye of Parker, Ariz., Janice and Glen Speers of Grandview, James and Gloria Tharp of San Antonio, Texas, David and Bernice Tharp of Grandview, and Debra Walker of Muscatine; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a sister, Josephine Montagna of Sacramento, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Newt; three brothers, Asa, Anthony and Speedy; and six sisters, Frances, Alberta, Mary, Irene, Stella and Iris.
