I'm looking for information on Lorenzo Baldwin and his eldest daughter, Rosa. Some time ago, Franklin Best was kind enough to send me quite a bit of information on Lorenzo, but we were never able to determine what happened to him between the 1880 census, when he was a jeweler in Columbus Junction at age 56, and 1890, when his wife and younger daughter came to Newberg, OR. Why wasn't he with them? Why didn't the elder daughter come? Where was his young son, Charles? In the Newberg OR 1900 census, there is only Lorenzo's wife Mary and his second daughter, Martha listed. In Newberg newspaper articles at the time, there is mention only of Mary BALDWIN and daughter, Martha. If anyone knows what happened to Lorenzo BALDWIN after 1880, I would be forever grateful.
