Knowing the Stacy Lewis Funeral Home had a fire in the 1970's (they stored a few items in our basement during the renovations) I asked if they had saved their records some time back. While most of the records they had kept of their own business survived the fire, Warren Lewis told me that the previous owner destroyed their records when they took over saying it was no one else's business. I am not certain of the date they purchased the business but I doubt if you will find any records prior to the 1950's. When I was young, Vic Stacy was still in Wayland, my father and I loafed in his furniture store on Saturday nights. In those days funeral homes were often connected to furniture stores.
