Erin in Ankeny, I read with interest your posting of surnames - the name MILLER caught my eye. My g-grandmother, Lavina BEDWELL b. 1840 in Louisa Co., d/o John BEDWELL and Eliza Jane HARNETT, m. Alexander MILLER in Louisa Co. in 1855. They had a daughter Nancy MILLER b. 1861. Alexander died from injuries inflicted in the Civil War. Lavina Bedwell Miller remarried in 1865 in Louisa Co. to George W. HONTS b. 1838, son of Daniel HONTS and Mary GOOD. In the 1880 census they were living in Polk Co., NE. Next door to them was a 19 yr. old Nancy, wife of Benton WYKERT. I've wondered if this Nancy was Nancy Miller, daughter of Alexander MILLER and Lavina BEDWELL. Do you have any info on Nancy MILLER b. 1861? I know her father, Alexander Miller, is buried at Long Creek Cemetery. (Lavina's mother, Eliza Jane, married Francis WYKERT, Jr. in 1852 - I believe Benton Wykert was a nephew to Francis Jr.) Mari Nielsen
