    3. Bev, Well, you've done it again, Bev! You just gave me another piece of the puzzle! I knew that Charlotte KNIGHT (daughter of my g-g-grandmother Eliza Jane HARNETT and her second husband Mark KNIGHT) married a Spafford but I didn't know which one, and you just listed that marriage. Hurrah! Thanks so much for posting this info! A couple of corrections/comments to your info: You posted: Bk "C" p 79 28 Dec 1865 Julius F. SPAFFORD*\ Charlotte KNIGHT* (39) (s/o? Orleans & Jane H. of CC\ d/o? Asa & Eliza of Fredonia) Correction: Charlotte Knight was the daughter of Mark KNIGHT and Eliza Jane HARNETT You posted: #16\16 BLAKE, William age 38, farmer, b VA; Mary A.M. age 10, b IA; Virginia age 7, b IA; William P. age 4, b IA; Samuel age 10/12, b IA; Mary age 82, b NC. (also listed in this house) KNIGHT, Asa age 35, (no occ. listed),b ?; Eliza *age 30, b IN; Asa* age 4, b IN; Charlotte* age 1, b IA. Comments: Asa KNIGHT age 35 was a brother to Mark KNIGHT who died in 1849 in Louisa Co. Eliza was Mark's widow and the children, Asa and Charlotte, were Mark's children. I am not sure why Eliza and her children and her brother-in-law Asa were living with the William Blake household. There appears to be a connection (perhaps just friends and neighbors) but Joseph Blake, brother to William, was the administrator of Mark Knight's estate. You posted: Bk "A" p 225 23 Jun 1852 Francis WYKERT*\ Eliza KNIGHT* (15) (1 WYKERT in Wapello\ 2nd m for Eliza? 1st Asa KNIGHT?) Comments: Eliza Knight was the widow of Mark Knight (her first husband was John Bedwell). I hope the list members don't mind me taking up room on the list to post these corrections but I know that others who are researching will be reading the archived messages and will come across this info, and I'd like them to get the corrections. Thanks for your patience! For those of you who are researching the KNIGHT family: Asa, Curtis and Mark Knight were the sons of Stephen KNIGHT and Polly PIERCE. The Knight children were born in Marlow, NH (according to Knight researcher Ruth Kelly). Their children were Mary b. 1806, Curtis b. 1809, Charlotte b. 1810, Asa b. 1813, Harriet b. 1817, Lucy b. 1819, Elizabeth b. 1822, Mark b. 1826, Dexter b. 1828, and Alonzo b. 1830. Two years after Stephen's death in 1839, the homestead was sold and the family broke up. Sometime after that the three brothers (Asa, Curtis and Mark) came to Louisa Co. I'm not sure if any of the others did. Polly Pierce Knight and her son Alonzo joined the Mormon Church and relocated in Utah. (If anyone is researching this family and would like more info on Alonzo I can share what was given to me by one of his descendants.) Are there any Spafford/Spoffard researchers on this list? Love to hear from you! Mari Nielsen
