Willa & all, In reply to your query of 9/7/99 regarding where to send for probate records--I am referring to my copy of The Handybook for Genealogists, the 8th Edition, which was published in 1991 so some of the information may be out dated. It is published by Everton Publishers, Inc. and very handy to have. I understand there is a newer edition out now. For Louisa County it states the following: Clerk of District Court has birth and death records from 1880, marriage records from 1842 and divorce, probate and civil court records. The address given is Louisa County, 117 S. Main St. Wapello, IA 52653-1547. Maybe Keith or Connie has more current information. Bev
