Trying to sort out the Gilliland, Gillilan,Gilliam families OR are they one in the same.Lorene and i are looking for John Gilliland who was a surveyor in Louisa and Henry co.There is a write-up about him in Henry co.Thought his wife Elizabeth was buried in Cranston cem but stone says Gilliam.She is only Gilliam in that cemetery,died 1850-way too early for any records.Could not find anything in Muscatine court house or Wapello.It was said he was given a portion of England's addition for services.Could not find any record of this.I believe this is Wapello,town.Does anyone know of Gilliland's.There was in deaths at Wapello:Winnie Myrtle Gilliland,died 11-28-1978, age 101,born 5-11-1877;died Morning Sun,Morning Sun Manor.father's name is Ralph Ostrander? and mother's name is Elicabeth Smalley??.buried at Mt Zion Cemetery,Keokuk county,Iowa, Any help here would be appreciated by Lorene,especially.
