He came to Illinois with his parents in 1836 and lived in that place until 1871, when he came to Iowa and has lived here since except one year in Mercer county, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Miss Melissa Law in 1867. To this union were born three children, one son and two daughters, Mrs. Sarah E. Robison, of Grandview; Mrs. Nellie E. Crow, of Muscatine, and Charles H. Wilson at home, and one step-daughter, Addie Law, of near Wapello. He also leaves one brother and two sisters, Johnathan Wilson, of California; Mrs. Elizabeth Sager, of Nebraska, and Mrs. Mary Philips of Colorado, and eight grandchildren. He united with the Christian church in 1868, and later united with the United Evangelical church, and professed his faith in Christ until death. He will be sadly missed by his bereaved wife and children, who dearly loved him.
