FRY Frances Marie Fry, age 85, of Grandview, Iowa, died Monday morning, October 19, 1998, at her home. The daughter of Roy and Hortense ODell McGill, she was born April 19, 1913 at Grandview. She married Ralph Thomas Fry on December 27, 1930 at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He died July 4, 1974. She was a homemaker and a member of the Grandview Community Bible Church at Grandview and also a member of the Keep Pace Club in Louisa County. She enjoyed cooking and needlework and was known for baking pies. She also loved gardening and flowers. Survivors include two daughters, Gwendolyn Carter of Davenport and Luella Chatterton of Grandview; two sons, Oral R. Fry of Brighton, Colorado and Kenneth J. Fry of Murrieta, California; twenty-four grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph; a son Thomas; a grandson Eugene; a granddaughter Kathryn; two sisters, Twila and Cleda; and five brothers, Oral, Lawrence, Kenneth, Daryl and Russell. Visitation was Wednesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello, where the family met with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service for Frances Fry will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 1998, at the Grandview Community Bible Church with the Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating. Burial will follow at the Grandview Cemetery. Casket bearers will be the grandsons, John T. Carter, Allen W. Carter, Kenneth R. Carter, Leslie P. Carter, Douglas D. Fry, David A. Fry, Thomas R. Fry, Randy B. Fry, Larry D. Fry, Michael T. Angelo, Kenneth R. Fry, Kerry L. Fry and Michael D. Fry. A Memorial Fun has been established for the benefit of Hospice.
