Services were held Saturday, February 26, at 2 p.m. in the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. William H. Moon officiating. Donna Belle Hughes was organist and Brian Cummings, vocalist. Casket bearers were Albert Dayton, Dean McCulley, Mark Warren, Tim Stephens, Ed Allworth, David Duncan and Dallas Duncan. Burial was in Columbus City Cemetery. Mrs. Martin was born June 19, 1899 in rural Columbus Junction. Her parents were William and Kate Griffith Rahmiller. She married John Martin December 31, 1919, in Columbus Junction. He preceded her in death December 18, 1959. She was a member of the Louisa Center Community Church and the United Presbyterian Church of Columbus Junction, and of the Long Creek Homemakers Club. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Richard (Jeanette) Howe of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. Ann Workman of Bates City, Missouri, and Mrs. Paul (Kay) Duncan of Columbus Junction; three sons, Warren of Morning Sun, William of Columbus Junction, and Larry of Glenwood, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Edna Hunt of Washington.
