Isabelle Gabriel Funeral services for 93 year old Isabelle Gabriel of Columbus City were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction, Iowa. Burial followed at the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. with the family present. Eastern Star Rites were held at 7:30 Sunday at the funeral home. Isabelle died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Isabelle Fowler was born June 22, 1905 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to John and Anna Dunn Fowler. She married Ralph Omer Gabriel, December 24, 1923, in Oskaloosa. Isabelle had worked at the Tomato Factory in Columbus Junction, and had later worked as a nurses aide at the Restopia Care Center in Columbus Junction, in addition to being a homemaker. Isabelle had been a member of the Emma Beckman Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge. Isabelle is survived by her children, Ephraim Gabriel and his wife Markey, Columbus City, Mrs. Frank (Shirley) Till, Cassell, Ca., Mrs. Marlene Pierce, Columbus City, Ralph Richard Gabriel, Columbus City, Douglas Gabriel and his wife Ingrad, Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Larry Lee Gabriel, Columbus Junction. There are 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren surviving; a brother, Ralph Fowler, Floresville, Texas, and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Todd, Columbus City and Mrs. Beatrice Todd, Borene, Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews. Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight brothers and two sisters, a son, Edward, a daughter, Nadine, and step-daughter, Becky Schafer.
