Funeral services for 98 year old Rodney H. Jones of Columbus Junction were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 12, 1999, at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. Burial with military rites followed at the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation was held 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the family present. Rodney died Thursday at the Colonial Manor Care Center, Columbus Junction. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Rodney Huron Jones was was born Novermber 29, 1900 in Haskins, Iowa to Daniel and Almeda Boileau Jones. Rodney had farmed and later became a carpenter in the Columbus Junction area. He was a World War II Army Veteran, a member of the Allen Wright Hanft Post #100 of the American Legion and the Columbus Junction VFW. Rodney is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Milton, Roy, Jimmy and Walter; and two sisters, Geneva Podaril and Crete Swails.
