Skipto DATE: 1/4/2010 at 00:12:18 Surnames: BELL,PETERS,DUNCAN,MCKEAN,ROBERTSON,HARBISON Services will be held thursday at 1:30 p.m. for Donald Burdette Bell, 72, rural Columbus Junction. Rev. Brian Jensen of the United Presbyterian Church will conduct the services and preside over the burial following at Columbus City Cemetery. Organist is Donna Belle Hughes. Visitation was at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday with the family in attendance from 6-8 p.m. A general memorial has been established. Born Oct. 1, 1916, the son of Spencer and Winnifred Peters Bell in Louisa County, he had been a farmer until his retirement in 1984. His marriage to Martha Duncan took place Oct. 14, 1941 in Kahoka, Mo. She died April 8, 1983. He was a member of the Columbus City Masonic Lodge No. 107 AS,AM, and the Kaaba Shrine and Davenport Consistry as well as a member of the congregation of the United Presbyterian Church of Columbus Junction. He is survived by two sons, Samuel of Columbus Junction and Michael of LeClaire and one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Nancy) McKean, Dunlop, Ill. there are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Robertson, Columbus Junction, Mrs. Anita Bell of Muscatine and Mrs. Herbert (Mildred) Harbison Jr., of Moring Sun also survive him. He was preceded in death by his wife and one sister.
