Boyle, 71, Morning Sun, died Saturday, January 11, 1986 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born august 14, 1914 at Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Edward and Lillian West Boyle. He married Mildred Archibald January 15, 1944 at Keokuk. Iowa. Mr. boyle was a beteran of World War II serving in the European Theater of Operation and was a prisoner of war. For many years he was a Standard Oil Agent in Morning Sun. Later he was a meat inspector, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Hays Scott Post 112 of the American Legion, a former charter member of the Morning Sun Lions Club and was of Catholic Faith. Surviving included his wife at home; a daughter, Mrs. Chris Gordon of Bloomfield, Iowa; two grandchildren, Matt and Molly; three brothers and one sister, Timothy Boyle, Portland, Oregon, John and Joseph Boyle, both of Keokuk, Iowa, and Elizabeth "Sis" Boyle, also of Keokuk, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. A Christian Wake serice was held at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at Pierce Funeral Home, Morning Sun, Ia. A memorial has been established. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Masry's Catholic Church, Wapello, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14. The Rev. Father Philip Cardenzana officiated. Pallbearers were William Boyle, John Boyle, Steve Renard, Dwight Vogel, Jack Van Ausdall and Kenneth Norton. Burial was in National Cemetery, Keokuk, Iowa, at 2 p.m. January 14. The Rev. Father David Goetsch officiated. Pierce Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
