Skipto DATE: 2/9/2010 at 10:45:04 Surnames: HAAS,WALKER,ALLEN,KLUCKHOLM,LOHSE,HASCHAR Source: Louisa County Historical Society Miss Esther Haas, daughter of Peter Haas, one of the old settlers of Grandview Township, died last Thursday afternoon of comsumption. She had been in failing health since last December. Her age was eighteen years and nineteen days. She was born near Grandview and was the only one of a large family left at home. Besides her father and mother, she leaves two brothers, George and Edward, of Grandview; and five sisters, Mrs. John Walker and Mrs. Will Allen, of Grandview; Mrs. Edward Kluckholm, Garner, Iowa; Mrs. Herman Lohse, of Pasadena, California, and Mrs. Lizzie Haschar, wife of Geo. Haschar, residing near Wapello. they were all present excepting the sister in California. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. H.S. Evert in the Congregational Church last Sunday in the presence of a large assembly of friends, who mourn with the family the death of this excellent young lady. The interment was in the Grandview Cemetery.
