Ernest L. "Ernie" Wright, 70, of Wapello, died Monday, Aug. 6, 1990, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Oct 11, 1919, in Columbus City, he was the son of Charles and Kate Orris Wright. He married Donna Wischmeier Sept. 6, 1946, in Columbus Junction. He worked in the lumber yard business, retiring from D&P Lumber in Wapello in 1985. He was a member of the VFW, Wapello, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed fishing and bicycling and participating in the Friday night band at Oakville. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Debra Lee Milstead, Glendale, Ariz.; and Teryn Lyn Wright, Washington, D.C.; and two grandchildren. Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. The service for Mr. Wright will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, with the Rev. George Yetter officiating. Burial will be in the Wapello Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
