Services were Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Chapel followed by private interment. Memorials may be made to the memorial fund of the Sun City First Presbyterian Church or the National TTT Society. She was born in Packwood, Iowa and moved to Sun City from Wapello in 1968. She attended Iowa Wesleyan College at Mount Pleasant where she was a member of Pi Kappa Delta, National Forensic fraternity and Pi Beta Phi, social fraternity. She taught in Linby, Packwood and Wapello, Iowa schools. In Wapello she was both a teacher and junior high principal and until the retirement of her husband, Dr. H.E. Hoover she was substitute teaching. She was past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star, past national president of TTT and past president of Sun City, Youngtown, Sun City West PEO group. She was also a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a board member of the Wapello Library and helped in supervising construction and furnishing of the Keck Memorial Library. She was a member and circle leader in the First Presbyterian Church of Sun City and was active in bridge groups and a member of the Sun City Country Club. Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Pooley of Sun City and Beverly Decker of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
