Skipto DATE: 2/9/2010 at 13:48:44 Surnames: GEIGER,LEGLER,GROFF,YEAGER,FARREL,ECKLESH Source: Louisa County Historical Society John Geiger was born in Baden, Germany, January 1, 1830, came to this country at the age of two years, living in Pennsylvania until 18 years of age, when he came to Muscatine, residing there and at Letts continously since. At an early age he was converted, and united with the U.B. Church, living a consistent Christian life until death. Socially he was affiliated with Triangular Lodge, No 245, A.F. & A.M. The last wo winters were spent in the south with his daughter, where he met with the fatal accident, Dec. 30, 1904. those left to mourn the loss of a kind, devoted husband and father are his wife and two daughters, Mrs. J.J. Legler, of Muscatine, and Mrs. R.E Groff, of Bucklin, Kan., also two grandaughters, Gertrude Legler and Candive Groff, and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Yeager of Oxford, Kan., Mrs. Ellen Farrel of Des Moines, Ia., and Mrs. Mary Ecklesh of Los Angeles, Cal.
