Bain, 87, died Friday at Burlington Medical Center. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Monday. She retired in 1957 from the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Burlington. She previously had been employed at the Automatic Button Factory, Muscatine. Hazel Flood married Austin Bain in 1939 in Missouri. He died in 1988. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Wapello. Memorials may be made to the Wapello Rescue Unit and the Wapello Community Ambulance Service. Survivors include a son, Clifford Welker, Ottumwa; grandchildren, Judith Bell, Mesa, Ariz.; and Scott Welker, Alpena, Mich.; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
