John Austin Korn, 93, died Monday at the Wapello Nursing Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wapello United Methodist Church. The Rev. Gordon Watson will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. Burial will be in the Wapello Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home. Mr. Korn was born Sept. 19, 1889, in Wapello, the son of August A. and Lydia Brendel Korn. He was a lifetime resident of Wapello. On June 16, 1915, he married Lula Kemper in Wapello. He was a farmer, and member of the Wapello United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Charles A. of Logan, Iowa, and John H. of Wapello; one daughter, Mabel Lucille Sandeen of Winfield; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles E. Korn of Mesa, Ariz.; and three sisters, Anna Bryan of San Antonio, Texas, and Lillie Hiller and Esther Fancolly, both of Wapello. Mr. Korn was preceded in death by his wife, one grandson, four sisters and one brother.
