Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Jensen officiating. Donna Belle Hughes was organist. Vocalists were Jill Cecil, Randy Schafer, and Brian and Kristie Cummings. Casket bearers were grandsons Jack, Cecil, Michael, David, Mark, Terry, Douglas, Lanny and Monte Pugh, and Randy Schafer. Burial was in the Cambrian Cemetery. A memorial has been established. Sclenia Jane Peters was born June 22, 1897, in Wyman, to Daniel and Ann Edwards Peters. She married Lewis Pugh on May 3, 1923 in Columbus Junction. Mrs. Pugh was a member of the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church, the United Presbyterian Women, a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Emma Beckman Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had worked at Ross Dry Goods Store and the Peoples National Bank. She is survived by three sons, Richard, Arthur and Jack Pugh, all of Columbus Junction; two daughters, Mrs. Marian Cecil of Columbus Junction and Mrs. Rex (Doris Ann) Schafer of Rochelle, Illinois; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; one brother, Dennis Peters of Columbus City; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Alice Peters of Columbus Junction. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 13, 1976; eight brothers, Lewis (Pat), Jack, Richard, Omrie, Ellis, Bennet, Jarrett, and Thomas Peters; and two sisters, Winnie Bell and Sarah Peters.
