CATHARINE SCHAEFER PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING. Has Been Sufferer for a Year and Death Was Not Unexpected - Funeral at Grandview. Mrs. Catharine Hucke Schaefer, the wife of John Schaefer, of Wapello, Ia., passed away this morning at 5 o'clock, at the family residence there, according to the sad message received by friends in this city today. Her death was due to cancer and followed a year's illness. Mrs. Schaefer was for a number of years a resident of this county, making her home near Moscow. Later the family removed to Louisa county, residing for a time at Grandview and later at Wapello. The funeral services will be held at the M.E. church at Grandview on Saturday at 1 p.m., and interment will be made at the Grandview cemetery. Mrs. Schaefer is survived by her husband, five children, and eighteen grandchildren. The children are: Robert Schaefer, of Grandview; Henry and George, of Wapello; Mrs. William Beik and Mrs. H.H. Snyder, of near Grandview. Two sisters, Mrs. Tom Frenzel, and Mrs. Chris. Frenzel, and one brother, Henry Hucke, all of Moscow, also survive her.
