Born April 16, 1897, in Haven, she was the daughter of Leroy and Dora Thompson Hesseltine. On January 4, 1923, she married Harold Albert McCullough in Muscatine. He died April 13, 1988. She was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a 71-year member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Conesville and the Ladies Church Guild. She was also a member of the Louisa County Farm Bureau Women and the Jolly 12 Sewing Club in Conesville. Survivors include a son, Gaylord McCullough of Conesville; a daughter, Dorothy Drinkall of Columbus Junction; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys Schenkel of Muscatine. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters. The funeral for Mrs. McCullough was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 10, at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. Rick Crooks officiated the service. Music was by Mrs. Marsha Gerot and Brian Cummings. Casket bearers were David McCullough, Donald McCullough, Daniel McCullough, and John Chapin. Burial was in the Conesville Cemetery.
