Muscatine, Iowa - Glen "Candy Man" Johnson, 74, Muscatine, died Saturday Feb 1, 2003, at Unity Hospital following surgery for an aneurysm. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jackie Lee Evans Jr., Charles Glen Foster, Zackary Lee McKillip, Glen Johnson IV, Robert Sonderberg and John Everett Elshoff. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Davison, Raymond Evans, Kenneth Evans, Joshua Lee Evans, Glen Eugene Cubbage, Dean Allen Evans and Allen Ray Mathes. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 14, 1928, the son of Glen and Emily Busch Johnson Sr. He married Izora Bell Lantz Aug. 31, 1947, in Muscatine. He retired fromn Thatcher Tubes in 1989 after 27 years of service. He loved life, his family and chattin gwiht anyone willing to talk or listen. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Neoma Koke Foster and husband Tom and Penny Brewer and husband Roy, all of Mjuscatine; a son, Glen Johnson III and wife Teresa of Muscatine; a grandson, Glen Johnson IV who lived with his grandparents; three brothers, John Johnson and wife Martha, Harry Johnson and wife Sharon and Charles Johnson and wife Clarice, all of Muscatine; six sisters, Carolyn Freyermuth and husband Otis, Irma Jean Voeltz and husband Gordon, Mary Ann Brown, Charlotte Exmoil and husband Michael, all of Muscatine, Sandra Campbell of York, S.C. and Mina Suhl of New York Mills, Minn.; two borthers-in-law, William Musgove of Oskaloosa and Jesse Wheeler of Muscatine; 16 grandchildren' 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Carol Cubbage, Donna Wheeler and Sharon Kay Musgove; a son-in-law, Jack Evans; and three great-grandchildren.
