Marie Louise Hudson, age 79, Yarmouth, died Sunday, March 20, 1994 at the Burlington Medical Center. The daughter of Henry and Louise (Dreckmeier) Burgus, she was born September 27, 1914 at Burlington. She married M. Burdette Hudson in October of 1935 at Burlington; he died April 4, 1976. She was a graduate of Burlington High School; was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mediapolis; the Rebekah Lodge at Sperry; the Business and Professional Women at Burlington; the Secretary's Association at Burlington; the Kings Daughters, and the Willing Workers. She had worked at the I.A.A.P in earlier years and retired from Midwest Savings and Loan in Burlington as V.P. Loan Officer. Survivors include: 1 daughter, Janet Kremer of Oakville, Iowa; 3 sons, Richard of Phoenix, Arizona, Robert of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, and Roy of Burlington; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Ethel Dodge of Burlington; and 1 brother, Martin Burgus of Sperry. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Edward and Paul, and an infant sister. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 22, 1994 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mediapolis, with the Rev. Dan Vojta officiating. Music was provided by Joan Cling, organist. Honorary attendants were Hazel Anderson, Eunice Ibbotson and Duella Robertson. Casket bearers were Robert Kramer, Allan Hudson, Roger Hudson, Mike Hudson, Eric Hudson and Don Kramer. Interment was in the Kossuth Cemetery at Mediapolis. The family met with friends Monday evening at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis. A memorial has been established in her name for the American Cancer Society.
