Lola Margaret Murray, age 88, of Wapello, died Wenesday afternoon, April 27, 1994, at the Burlington Medical Center after a week's hospitalization Born March 16, 1906 at Wapello, she was the daughter of Harry O. and Clara Archibald Pease. On June 20, 1924 she married Sam Murray at Ft. Madison, Iowa. The couple farmed in Des Moines County until their retirement when they moved to Wapello. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Eleanor Stone of Wapello; a son, Sharon Murray of Oakville; six grandchildren, Fred M. Stone of Mt. Pleasant, Greg C. Stone of Madison, Wisconsin, Norman L. Stone, Gene L. Murray, Catherine E. Phillips, and Peggy J. Yotter, all of Wapello; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Sharon, and a great-grandson. Funeral service were held Saturday, April 30, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with the Rev. William Moon officating. Music was provided by John Zippe, vocalist and Kathleen Hagele at the organ. Poems written by Peggy Yotter and Aunt Bess Archibald were read. Casket bearers were her grandchildren. Burial was in the Wapello Cemetery. A Memorial fund has been established for the Wapello Res- (end of article)
