Columbus Junction - Services for Dorothy L Dircks, 89, who died Friday (1 Apr. 1988) at the Sunrise Terrace Care Center, Winfield, following an extended illness, were today at 1:30 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Larry Bronkema officiated. Organist was Donna Belle Hughes. Pallbearers were Marvin and Wayne Crim, Kenneth Dircks and Jack Cecil. Burial was at the Columbus City Cemetery. Mrs. Dircks was born May 18, 1898 at Wyman, a daughter of William and Clara Beauchamp Crosley. Her marriage to Hilton Crim took place Oct. 7 1915 at Muscatine. On Dec. 16 1935 she was married to Leo Dircks. He died in 1971. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America, Columbia Camp N. 537. During her adult life she woked as a button cutter for Pearl Button Company at Columbus Junction and later was a restaurant cook. Survivors include two sons, Dayton Crim of Washington; and Lyle Crim of Coralville; two stepsons,, Robert Dircks of Columbus Junction; and Richard Dircks of Springfield, Kan.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers also preceded her in death.
