TETANUS CAUSES HOHENADEL DEATH ACCIDENT ON NOVEMBER 8TH RESULTS IN DEATH Injured While Assisting in Shredding Fodder, When Left Arm is Drawn in Machinery - Funeral Today Clarence Hohenadel, a prominent young farmer residing near Letts, Ia., passed away at 8 o'clock Saturday evening, his death being caused by Tetanus, from which he suffered for two days. His death was directly due to injuries he received on November 8th. Hohenadel was assisting in shredding fodder at the Alfred Bohling place at that time and was operating the traction engine. As he leaned forward to give the machine more power his sleeve caught in the belt and his left arm was drawn in. Only the presence of mind of Donald Rockefellow, another worker, who turned the clutch of the traction engine as Hohenadels's head was being drawn into the machinery, saved the young man from instant death. Immediately after the accident he was removed to the Hershey hospital and remained there for nearly a week. As a result of his improved condition he was removed to his home Thursday. Hohenadel was a lifelong resident of the Letts community. He was born August 16, 1892, on a farm near Grandview. Beside his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hohenadel, he is survived by four brothers, Theodore, Frank, John and Charles, and one sister Pearl, at home. Funeral services over the remains were conducted this morning at 10 o'clock from the home near Letts the Rev. Thorne of the Grandview Methodist Episcopal church officiating. Interment took place in the Grandview cemetery.
