Gray, one of the early settlers of Grandview, occurred at Des Moines, Iowa, June 2, 1914. The remains were brought to Grandview for burial. Mr. Gray was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, March 5th, 1833. He came to Iowa with his parents when 5 years old. At an early age he became a member of the United Presbyterian church and lived in harmony with his Christian profession. He leaves a wife, son and daughter ot mourn his loss. A generous tribute of good will and of sympathy was shown to the family by the large attendance at the fuenral and the beautiful floral offerings. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.G. Washington, pastor of the Congregational Church at Grandview. The message of the sermon was portrayed in the text: "Let me die the death of the righteous and let my last end be like His."
