She was born July 20, 1908 at Ollie, Iowa, the daughter of Cam and Cora Eckley Toomire. She married Ross Dudgeon on July 6, 1927 at Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1971. They came to Wapello in 1937 where she actively worked with her husband in the funeral home. She was a graduate of the Martinsburg High School. Pauline was a member of the United Methodist Church at Wapello where she had taught the youth Sunday School Class for many years. She was also a member of Chapter G of T.T.T. She had been a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Phyllis McCulley of Wapello; two granddaughters, Kathleen Hagele and Karen Grimm, both of Wapello; and four great-grandsons, Mike and Matt Hagele and Bradley and Brenton Grimm; and one brother, Waldo Toomire of La Jolla, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross, and two brothers, Forrest and Leo. The funeral service for Pauline Dudgeon will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 1993 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ed Philgreen officiating. Helen Hedlund will be the organist. The casket bearers will be Fred Brown, Richard Morris, Lawrence Parish, A. T. Wollenhaupt, Don Hedlund, Fred Behner, Curt Grimm, and Cordell Hagele.
