Skipto DATE: 2/9/2010 at 14:15:23 Surnames: TODD,BALL Source: Louisa County Historical Society Lucile Nichols Todd, 56, of Morning Sun, died Sunday, Nov. 30 at University Hospitals, Iowa city, after a short illness. Born april 3, 1930 in Marshall Township of Louisa County, she was the daughter of Glenn and Esther Ball Nichols. She married Wendell Todd Sept. 9, 1951 at the Wapello United Methodist Church. Mrs. Todd was a member of the United Methodist Church of Morning Sun, United Methodist Women, the 5:30 a.m. Prayer Group, and was charter member of the Lioness Club, Morning Sun. Surviving are her husband Wendell; one daughter, Sandra, Iowa City; two sons, Alex, San Jose, Calif., and David, Santa Cruz, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Her parents preceded her in death. Services for Mrs. Todd were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3 at the Morning Sun United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dick Clark and the Rev. Ed Elliott officiated. Vocalists were Dick and Linda Clark, and Ed and Jill Elliott. Wanda Harris and Betty Ball assisted with flowers. Honorary pallbearers were Rosie Butler, Mary Ellen Griffith, Marjorie Wheeler, Geneva Samuels, Lillian Sellers and Linda Patton. Pallbearers were John Elmer Ball, Jack Wheeler, George Griffith, Ernest Howard, Kenneth Todd, and Keith Hiller. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery with Pierce Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorials have been established for the United Methodist Church and the Lions Club International Foundation.
