THOMPSON Naomi Verlee Thompson of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Burlington, died Monday, April 11, 1994, at her home in Arizona. Born Jan. 6, 1933, she was the daughter of Henry Hank and Eva Schweitzer Gerst of Mediapolis. She married Richard Dick Thompson on Aug. 9, 1953, in Burlington. She graduated from Huron School in 1951. She was her husbands partner in several business ventures in Burlington, most recently the T & T Truck Wash and T & T Consignment. At the time of her death, she and her husband owned and operated Suds Laundromat in Surprise, Ariz. Survivors include her husband; two children, Kirk Thompson of Burlington, and Corinne Hoel of West Burlington; two sisters, Eleanor McKern of Council Bluffs and Wanda Lee of Burlington; two brothers, Roland Gerst of Mediapolis and Dennis Gerst of Oakville; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. A private committal service was held April 12 in Sun City. The body was cremated. Source newspaper clipping
